On December 14, Association of Manufacturers of Pharmaceuticals of the RA, jointly with the team of World Bank Group member International Finance Corporation (IFC) advisory programme, organised a roundtable discussion within the framework of government’s programme of activities designed for 2021-2026. The discussion was attended by representatives of the public and private sectors: Vice Minister of Economy Narek Teryan, Vice Minister of Health Gevorg Simonyan, Director of Scientific Center for Drug and Medical Technology Expertise Arayik Baghryan, Director of “Enterprise Armenia” Levon Ohanesyan and Financial Director Aram Vardanyan, Vice President of the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia Nerses Karamanukyan and others. By a short video clip, the achievements of the pharmaceutical industry in Armenia and the prospects for its further development were presented. IFC “Armenia Economic Growth” Project Team Leader, Arsen Nazaryan, presented the results of Armenian pharma sector analysis for FDI. Sergey Matevosyan, General Director of Liqvor company, proposed to organise a working group, consisting of representatives of business and public sectors. The objective of the working group should be the development of public-private dialogue. The proposal received a positive response from the public sector. In the near future, the regulations of the working group and participants will be approved, and the working group will start to develop the concept note and strategic programme of prospective development for the pharmaceutical industry as a priority sector of the economy.
